The Federal Aviation Administration is moving forward with an $875 million artificial intelligence tool designed to help manage air traffic congestion. The system is intended to assist controllers in handling crowded airspace more efficiently, according to Ars Technica.
The FAA plans to first deploy the tool in the Washington, D.C. area, a notoriously busy airspace. If the initial test performs as expected, the agency will then expand the tool to airports and air traffic facilities across the country.
