Google Beam, the company's immersive video-conferencing system, is expanding beyond its earlier rollout. It will now ship to customers in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Germany, and Japan, supported by 18 channel partners. The hardware is co-branded as HP Dimension with Google Beam and works with both Google Meet and Zoom, giving enterprises flexibility.

Google says internal testing shows measurable benefits. In an eight-week study, teams using Beam reported feeling 50% more connected, found it 33% easier to ensure their feedback was understood, and saw a 21% decrease in follow-up meetings. These results align with Google's broader push to treat Beam as a tool not just for day-to-day collaboration but also for recruiting and talent development, with early customers including Bain, Netflix, and Capital Group.

To make Beam accessible to smaller organizations, Google is partnering with Industrious, a flexible workspace operator. The first Beam extended network will let startups and other businesses book HP Dimension with Google Beam at select U.S. locations—Atlanta, Chicago, New York City, and Palo Alto—starting in October. The company says this pilot aims to bring more natural, face-to-face interaction to distributed teams without requiring them to buy hardware outright.
