At Meta Connect 2026, Meta positioned Muse as the centerpiece of its AI strategy. The personal agent is free for users, and Meta says it may later take a cut of transactions. Muse now supports voice and real-time video, can receive a dedicated email address, and performs computer use on Mac. It connects to 1,500+ apps, including Box, GitHub, Granola, Notion, and retail partners such as Walmart and Sephora. Meta says Muse has overtaken ChatGPT in the App Store.
On the hardware side, Meta announced Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 glasses with longer battery life and upgraded microphones, plus Meta VR Glasses at $1,299, pitched as a private cinema, workstation, and game console in glasses form. A keychain-sized device called Muse Charm will ship in December for talking to the agent without phone, computer, or glasses. The glasses also now carry an FDA-cleared hearing aid feature.
Meta separately released Muse Realtime Avatar as a research model that animates the agent in sync with real-time voice, with answers in under a second and watermarked output. The company frames it as "the foundation for realtime, embodied AI across our products," but its comparison against rivals relied on vendor-run evaluations with no published margins or rater counts. WaveForms AI, the speech startup led by Alexis Conneau, was acquired and contributed to the voice and avatar work. Meta also teased a new frontier model but did not ship it.
