Oracle has integrated OpenAI's ChatGPT Work and Codex across recruiting, engineering, and operations, according to a case study published by OpenAI. The company reports over 130,000 active ChatGPT users and more than 95,000 active Codex users. The tools are meant to let non-specialists complete work that previously required dedicated experts and days of effort.
In talent acquisition, Oracle built a market intelligence tool on ChatGPT Work that turns a job description into comparable roles, compensation benchmarks, and talent pool assessments. What once took recruiters two to four days of research now takes about 15 to 20 minutes of preparation. The Applications Lab team similarly used Codex to let business users ask questions in plain language, with the system generating SQL queries and returning results almost immediately—matching manual outputs exactly in one test.
Site reliability engineers also use Codex to gather incident context and pull up relevant playbooks, cutting a typical simple incident from an hour to minutes. Oracle leadership emphasizes that humans remain responsible for system design, security, and code maintainability, and that AI tools work best when guided by clear guardrails and prototypes rather than written specifications alone.
