RSA has introduced Agent ID, an agentic identity security platform designed for regulated sectors such as finance, government, healthcare, and critical infrastructure. The launch took place at The AI Conference in San Francisco, according to MarkTechPost.
The platform is built around three modules. The Discover module identifies both sanctioned and shadow AI agents, as well as MCP servers. The Secure module acts as an inline gateway, presumably to enforce policy on agent traffic. A third module, implied by the platform's stated goal, handles governance.
The announcement comes amid growing concerns about rogue AI usage. MarkTechPost notes that a single bad prompt once took down a company's Salesforce, and that enterprises may harbor thousands of shadow AI agents—RSA's own example cites 4,000. Agent ID appears to be a direct response to that risk, though the source does not provide technical details on how the gateway enforces security or how governance is applied.
