Vercel has released durable-harness, an open-source package designed to make coding agents more resilient. The tool records every model and tool call, so agent sessions can be restored after interruptions.
It works with agents including Pi, OpenCode, Claude Code, and Codex. State can be persisted on Vercel, Postgres, or a laptop, allowing sessions to resume after crashes, timeouts, or redeploys.
By open-sourcing the harness, Vercel gives developers a way to build crash-proof agent workflows without being locked into a specific infrastructure. The approach treats session durability as a first-class concern for AI coding tools.
