Adorama, the New York-based camera and electronics retailer, is no longer leaning on traditional promo codes. In its October 2026 promotions roundup, WIRED notes that the company prefers to drop prices from the start, so discounts appear automatically without requiring shoppers to enter a code. That removes a common barrier at checkout and makes the sale feel immediate.
The retailer's business model also rewards repeat customers. Its free VIP Rewards program gives points for shopping, referrals, and reviews, with 500 points worth $5 and 20,000 points worth $200. Adorama also runs a Classroom Connect program offering students and teachers up to 20 percent off new gear, and its Edge credit card adds 5 percent back with no annual fee plus interest-free payment plans on larger purchases.
WIRED's guide recommends comparing prices and checking clearance items, but the underlying message for shoppers is that Adorama is shifting from coupon hunting to automatic deals and loyalty perks. For the business, that means fewer abandoned carts and a stronger incentive to keep customers coming back.
