Amazon quietly introduced its About You page in May, drawing on personalization technology that has been around much longer. The page acts as a dossier of the details Amazon uses to tailor shopping recommendations, and it has drawn fresh attention because some entries are startlingly specific. Users have shared examples such as "has flat buttocks," "owns a tiny funnel," and "receives boxes from Amazon," ranging from oddly intimate to simply redundant.
Finding the page varies by device. In Amazon's mobile app, open the Me tab, tap your name, and select About You. On the web, go to Account & Lists, choose Account, and look under the "Ordering and shopping preferences" section. Alternatively, shoppers can ask Alexa "What do you know about me?" to see a list of preferences and a link to the full dossier.
Each observation can be selected and edited or removed, and users can add their own notes through a Create button. Amazon also allows importing details from other AI assistants via copy-and-paste. However, clearing an entry only prevents that particular detail from being used in personalization; it does not stop behavioral advertising or erase the purchase, review, or search query that generated the note.
