Anthropic and AI infrastructure provider Nscale are reportedly in talks for another $45 billion compute deal, roughly a month after announcing a similar agreement. Bloomberg reported the news, citing people familiar with the matter, who cautioned that negotiations are still underway and terms could change.
If completed, the deal would be the latest in a series of large compute agreements Anthropic has struck over the past year. The scale of spending has worried some investors who question whether the investments will generate enough profit, but Anthropic has pressed on, betting that the spending will eventually pay off.
Both companies are also preparing to go public. Anthropic is still expected to IPO this year. Nscale is seeking an IPO as well, though Bloomberg reported that investors are pushing back on its proposed $30 billion valuation. TechCrunch has reached out to both companies for comment and will update the story if they respond.
