Apple has scheduled another product launch for Oct. 28 in Los Angeles, its third event in a short span under hardware chief John Ternus. The invite, dubbed “Pro and Tell,” follows an iPhone-focused gathering at headquarters and an October smart-home showcase. All three sources agree the event will center on Macs and a refreshed iPad mini, with Bloomberg’s reporting cited as the common basis.
The expected centerpiece is a touchscreen MacBook Pro. Engadget and The Verge both say it will be lighter, have an OLED display, and include a Dynamic Island-style notch, but they differ on the chip: Engadget mentions M5 Pro and Max options, while The Verge says the new MacBook Pro will run on the M6. CNBC does not specify chips but notes analysts expect a touchscreen laptop. The sources also converge on a 14-inch MacBook Pro and a new iMac with the M6 chip, which debuted in the Mac mini in August.
Apple’s Mac business remains a modest part of revenue—about 10% in the most recent quarter, per CNBC—but the company has leaned on Mac chips as a key part of its AI story. CNBC adds that Apple shares are up 26% this year, outperforming the S&P 500. The event is set for 1PM ET, and Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak teased it as “pro and tell” on X, according to The Verge.
