Apple has scheduled a second fall event for October 13 at 9AM ET in Tribeca, New York, using the tagline "Welcome home." Both Engadget and The Verge agree the event will focus on smart home products, with the long-rumored HomePad smart display expected to headline. The device is said to feature a seven-inch screen, a new homeOS, and face and voice recognition for personalized content, according to Engadget.
The outlets also concur that Apple will likely show updated versions of the Apple TV and HomePod mini, both with support for the recently launched Siri AI. Where they differ: The Verge reports Apple is also partnering with LG on new devices such as a video doorbell, thermostat, and indoor camera, citing leaked renders. Engadget instead highlights a macOS beta code hint that the revamped HomePod mini may gain a small display with an Apple Watch-style interface.
The event comes after months of delays tied to Siri AI, which The Verge notes launched last month in beta. With that foundation in place, Apple appears ready to make its biggest smart home push yet, though neither source confirms final product names or availability.
