Apple has updated Final Cut Camera to support the variable aperture on the iPhone 18 Pro, which the company touted when announcing the phone earlier this month. The app's interface has been redesigned to make camera settings such as ISO and white balance easier to access, and a two-finger tap clears the screen to show a full viewfinder.
Because Final Cut Camera can control an iPhone from Final Cut Pro on a nearby iPad or Mac, aperture adjustments can be made remotely. Footage shot on the iPhone 18 Pro can also have depth of field and focus points edited in Final Cut Pro and Motion.
The company is also rolling out updates across Pages, Keynote, Numbers, Freeform, and Pixelmator Pro. Creator Studio subscribers get new templates and themes; Keynote can automatically generate images that match slide content, and the iPad version of Pixelmator Pro gains Select and Mask tools from the Mac version. Non-subscribers receive features like shared-file access requests, new Numbers functions, and Freeform improvements.
All updates roll out today, though some features require specific hardware or a subscription: Final Cut Camera's new settings need an iPhone 18 Pro, and Pixelmator Pro's new templates require the $13-per-month Creator Studio plan. This ties the new hardware capabilities to Apple's broader software services.
