Ayaneo, typically known for premium handhelds, is pushing into the budget segment through its Konkr line. The new Konkr Pocket Block is a compact, Game Boy–style vertical device that starts at $89, though preorders are currently $79. The entry model includes 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage in gray only, while a $99 version offers 3GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and three color choices.

The device features a 3.3-inch LCD with 960×720 resolution in a 4:3 aspect ratio, paired with a MediaTek Helio G85 chip. Ayaneo says this should handle up to PlayStation and Nintendo 64 titles, but may struggle with PS2 or GameCube games. It also includes a 3.5mm audio jack, microSD expansion, USB-C, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth.

Ayaneo originally billed the Konkr Pocket Block as the "world's first AI handheld," but has not yet detailed what AI features will be included. The company expects to start shipping by the end of October. For buyers wanting a more premium vertical handheld, Ayaneo continues to offer the separate Pocket Vert line.
