Boox has opened preorders for the Picco, a compact e-reader priced at $100. The device is expected to ship in November. It has a 3.94-inch monochrome ePaper display at 235 PPI and weighs about 58 grams, making it roughly the size of a standard playing card.

The Picco includes both physical page-turn buttons and touchscreen controls, along with four-way screen orientation. Its adjustable front light offers warm and cool settings, and a magnetic ring case is included so the device can attach to the back of a smartphone for easy portability.

The e-reader comes with 16GB of built-in storage and supports microSD expansion up to 2TB. Boox first teased the Picco earlier this summer as the first product in its Boox Tiles line, which the company says is designed to bring ePaper technology into more aspects of everyday life through unusual form factors.
