Disney has announced that Disney+ will stream Super Bowl LXI on Feb. 14, 2027, alongside the linear broadcasts on ABC and ESPN. Both Engadget and The Verge agree this is the first time Disney+ will carry the Super Bowl, giving subscribers the same feed that airs on the traditional networks.

The two reports also match on the streaming schedule for the season: Disney+ will carry two Monday Night Football games, the first being the Oct. 26 matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. The second game has not been announced. The Verge says the Super Bowl will be available in more than 55 international markets, while Engadget puts the figure at 55 and adds that the stream will be offered in both English and Spanish.

The sources differ slightly in context. Engadget notes that ABC has not aired a Super Bowl in over 20 years and that Disney said in August it had already sold all ad inventory for the game. The Verge highlights that last year's Super Bowl on Peacock boosted subscriber numbers and names the broadcast crew for the Disney+ feed. These details are complementary rather than contradictory, and both point to streaming becoming a central part of major sports rights.
