Essentia is running a Fall Sale that takes 20 percent off its organic mattresses, a discount the WIRED Reviews team says can amount to hundreds or even a thousand dollars in savings. The featured Tatami model, which the reviewer tested, is priced at $3,799 and drops to $3,039 during the promotion.
The Tatami is built with a high-density organic latex core and skips springs, wool, and fiber batting. According to the review, this construction leaves fewer places for dust mites and allergens to accumulate and helps isolate motion, which can be a benefit for couples or pet owners. The latex foam is also described as breathable, improving airflow compared with dense traditional memory foam.
Essentia's mattresses carry GOLS certification for organic latex and a GOTS-certified removable organic cotton cover, along with the brand's Beyond Organic standards. The cover is washable, and the mattress includes a Kevlar fabric layer that serves as a nontoxic, allergy-free fire retardant. The reviewer notes that while only the Tatami was tested, the same organic certifications apply to other Essentia models, and those are also included in the 20 percent discount.
