Google and Flo Health have announced a long-term partnership to bring menstrual health data into the Google Health app and develop new wellness hardware. The first step is an opt-in sync between the Flo app and Google Health, expected to arrive early next year.

Google says the feature will require explicit permission for each data type and purpose, and users can withdraw that permission at any time. The company also states that Flo data will not be used for advertising, sold, or shared with other apps or developers. For subscribers to Google Health Premium, Flo data will also be available to Google Health Coach for more personalized guidance.

The companies plan to build hardware that combines Flo's women's health insights with Google's wearable sensors. They also intend to launch research initiatives in underserved areas of menstrual health. Google says connecting cycle data with sleep, readiness, activity, and recovery can provide a clearer picture of health across different cycle phases and life stages.
