Google has essentially confirmed its next fitness tracker with a teaser posted on Instagram and X. The caption, “Get an Edge on your health. 10.12.26,” strongly suggests the device will be called the Fitbit Edge and will be revealed on October 12. Both Engadget and The Verge report the same teaser and agree that it follows weeks of leaked images and details from Android Headlines and French outlet Dealabs.

The two outlets largely align on the rumored specs: a 1.34-inch always-on OLED touchscreen, built-in GPS, accelerometer, barometer, altimeter, gyroscope, and optical sensors for heart rate and SpO2, plus electrical sensors for ECGs. The Verge emphasizes the health-monitoring features, including possible atrial fibrillation alerts, while Engadget frames the Edge as a natural step up from the screenless Fitbit Air and another route into Google’s Health Premium subscription.

There is a minor difference in pricing details. Engadget says the Edge could cost €179 in Europe, roughly $200, and might land closer to $180 in the US; The Verge similarly cites rumors of around $180 in the US. Both sources treat the October 12 date as the likely reveal, though Google has not yet published full specifications or pricing.
