Google is enlisting actor Henry Cavill to promote its new Googlebook laptops through a video game. The company announced the collaboration, with the game expected to launch in November. Googlebook, introduced earlier this year, runs on Android instead of ChromeOS, and Engadget has already tested the first five models.
The announcement leaves out specifics such as genre or additional creative partners. Given the devices' emphasis on AI, the project may involve "vibe coding" to some degree. While the effort could be little more than a celebrity-fronted marketing campaign, Cavill's involvement might help drive sales if the resulting game proves creative or entertaining. Google has set up a dedicated page for updates, though its "Follow for updates" link currently points to the @Android Instagram account.
