The Galaxy Z Fold 8's large 4:3 inner screen offers more room for work and entertainment, but some apps do not automatically adapt to the new aspect ratio. Users have reported scaling issues and have turned to forums for solutions.
Samsung provides two ways to adjust an app's aspect ratio. The first is through Settings > Display > Aspect ratio (or Settings > Apps depending on One UI version), where you can select full screen, 4:3, or 16:9 for each app. The second is by long-pressing the app icon, tapping the info button, and choosing App aspect ratios.
Even after adjusting, some apps may still not scale perfectly, leading to awkward cropping or positioning if the app is not optimized. Engadget's review of the Z Fold 8 praised the 4:3 main screen for reducing letterboxing compared to previous models, suggesting the trade-off may be acceptable.
