Amazon has entered the ereader page-turner accessory market with the Kindle Click, a $34.99 Bluetooth remote that goes on sale Oct. 28. The device is Amazon's first official answer to Rakuten Kobo's Kobo Remote, which launched in November 2025 at $29.99 and sold out for months. Both accessories let readers turn pages without touching the screen and include a wrist lanyard.

The two remotes differ in design and features. The Kindle Click has two equally sized buttons plus side controls for screen brightness, and pressing both buttons puts the Kindle to sleep. It charges over USB-C. The Kobo Remote uses a replaceable AAA battery and has a curved, ergonomic body with differently shaped buttons that are easy to distinguish by touch.

Compatibility is a key business consideration. The Kindle Click works only with Kindle models from 2024 or later, while the Kobo Remote works with any Bluetooth-enabled Kobo ereader. Engadget's comparison concludes that on features alone the Kindle Click is the stronger option, but notes the roughly $5 price gap is unlikely to matter to buyers already committed to one ecosystem.
