Logitech has released the Blue Yeti 2, the first true successor to the original Blue Yeti USB microphone that launched in 2009. Both The Verge and Engadget report the new model sells for $160, making it significantly cheaper than Shure's popular MV7 podcasting microphone, which starts around $300. The Verge notes the price is only $10 more than the original Yeti's launch price 17 years ago.

The two outlets agree on the core upgrade: a built-in 3D proximity sensor that tracks the user's voice and automatically adjusts gain, EQ, and pickup patterns. This is designed to remove the need for manual audio tuning, a feature both describe as particularly friendly for podcasters and streamers who do not want to spend time tweaking settings. The mic also includes AI-powered noise reduction and a 1.3-inch LED display that shows a mascot for visual feedback.

The sources differ slightly on branding and extras. The Verge stresses that Logitech is keeping the Blue name for nostalgia, even though the company folded Blue into its Logitech G sub-brand in 2023. Engadget instead calls it the Yeti 2 and adds details not mentioned by The Verge, including a capacitive mute button, a physical control dial, five stored presets, and custom avatars available through Logitech's G Hub software. Both agree the product is available now in black and white.
