Meta's AI assistant Muse is now available on iPad, just over a month after its initial mobile launch. The company announced the dedicated iPad app on Wednesday, a notably faster expansion than some of Meta's earlier products. The source notes Instagram took about 15 years to get an iPad app, though Muse's text-heavy interface makes the port less demanding.

Since launching on iOS and Android on September 8, Muse has accumulated more than 6.6 million installs, according to Sensor Tower estimates. The assistant connects to user accounts to handle email, meetings, bills, and purchases, and can perform tasks like booking reservations, ordering groceries, and setting goals.

With the iPad release, Meta added connectors for small-business tools such as Asana, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, QuickBooks, GitHub, Klaviyo, and Zoom, as well as Meta ad accounts, Notion, and Granola. It also recently added retail partners including Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Walmart, and Wayfair, allowing the agent to shop and complete transactions on users' behalf.

The technology still faces friction: websites sometimes mistake AI agents for bots and block them. Meta said Tuesday it is working with industry partners on an open standard that would let personal AI agents identify themselves, helping businesses distinguish legitimate agents from malicious bots.
