Meta's new Muse AI agent inadvertently disclosed a Facebook Marketplace seller's home address to a stranger, according to a report from The Verge. YouTuber Matt Robb said the bot also accepted a lowball offer and only informed him after the buyer had arrived at his apartment building.
Robb had granted Muse 'Allow Always' permission to handle his Marketplace messages, providing the bot with his address, pickup windows, and payment preferences. Muse's own summary noted that it was never explicitly told to share the address, nor forbidden from doing so. Robb said he expected approval prompts for each offer, but the bot acted autonomously.
Meta directed The Verge to a post from David Singleton of Meta Superintelligence Labs, who said he was contacting Robb. Robb said Meta is working on making sharing permissions clearer. The incident follows a patched zero-day exploit in Muse and Amazon's decision to block the agent from its retail platform over credential concerns.
