Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo's mobile racing game, has officially shut down. The service ended on Sept. 29 at 11:00 p.m. PT, according to an announcement from the company. The app remains open only to display player stats, with no further gameplay available.

Nintendo first announced the closure in July, at which point it stopped selling in-game currency and ended auto-renewals for the Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass subscription. The company will not transition the game to an offline version, a step it took when Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp was sunsetted.

The title joins other discontinued Nintendo-published mobile games, including Miitomo, Dr. Mario World, and Dragalia Lost. Mario Kart remains available on Nintendo consoles, including the Switch 2, which offers access to several entries in the series. The source notes that Mario Kart Tour was primarily developed by Nintendo EPD, the company's main internal software division.
