Replit CEO Amjad Masad said at TechCrunch Disrupt that the AI coding platform has ended its partnership with Anthropic. He cited cost, performance, and partnership fit, saying OpenAI's ChatGPT is now better and that Replit's internal benchmarks favor its own models, Sol and Astra, for building "vibe-coded" applications from scratch.

The claim is disputed. A person familiar with the matter said the partnership remains active, and Replit's own materials show Anthropic's Claude models running in production as recently as late September. A product employee also promoted Anthropic's Opus 5.5 around the same time.

Masad also shared growth details, saying enterprise contracts have grown from 2% of revenue last year to about 15% this year, with B2B now over half of revenue. He stressed the need for safe "habitats" for AI agents, including orchestration, error recovery, and security.
