One UI 9, Samsung's Android 17-based update, has been rolling out since September 16. The stable version is currently reaching the Galaxy S26 series first, with eligibility extending to S23-series phones and Z Flip/Z Fold models no older than the fifth generation. The update introduces several AI-driven features, including Now Nudge, which can surface reservation or location details during conversations, and My Fancam for intelligent subject tracking. It also adds background scam detection and AI-enhanced privacy alerts.

Before installing, users should check for the update under Settings > Software Update. Samsung recommends having about 4GB of free storage, a charged battery, and a Wi-Fi connection if scheduling the download. Backing up important files to the cloud or a physical device is also advised in case anything goes wrong during installation.

Separate beta updates are also in progress for older devices. A second beta has launched for the Galaxy A55, A35, and S24 series, with the A-series rollout starting in South Korea and the S24 beta in India. The update sizes are roughly 404MB for the A55, 500MB for the A35, and 601MB for the S24, and the same preparation steps apply.
