Samsung has integrated a diagnostics suite into Galaxy devices running Android 12 or later, accessible via Settings > Device care > Diagnostics. This tool allows users to test individual components or run a full check on 22 items, including battery, touch screen, cameras, microphones, speakers, buttons, sensors, and connectivity options.

The battery health rating is particularly useful for older devices, with statuses of Normal, Weak, or Bad. A Bad rating indicates significant degradation and recommends service. However, passing all diagnostics does not guarantee performance; the tests do not measure CPU speed or network throughput. Slow performance may stem from outdated software, background apps, or low storage.

For businesses, this built-in diagnostic capability could reduce unnecessary repair visits and help users decide whether to service or upgrade. Samsung also offers Maintenance mode to protect personal data during repairs, which may streamline the repair process for both users and service centers.
