GM has begun supporting digital car keys in Samsung Wallet, allowing owners of select Cadillac EVs to lock, unlock, and start their vehicles from compatible Samsung Galaxy devices. The rollout covers the 2025–2027 Lyriq, 2026–2027 Optic, and 2027 Vistiq in the US and Canada, with additional GM models promised by the end of 2026.
The feature relies on ultra-wideband and Bluetooth Low Energy, so only certain Galaxy phones and foldables work, from the Note 20 Ultra through the latest Galaxy S26 and Z Fold series. GM says the digital key can automatically lock and unlock the car as the owner approaches or walks away, and keys can be shared, suspended, or deleted if a device is stolen.
GM previously announced that digital keys would come to some GMC and Chevy trucks in December, and that support would extend to Apple Wallet and Google Wallet for iPhones, Apple Watches, and Pixel devices. The company has not confirmed whether those platforms are available today; owners will see a notification in the vehicle app's "What's New" section when support arrives for their car.
