October Prime Day deals have brought Samsung's latest foldables to their lowest prices yet. The Galaxy Z Fold 8, with 256GB of storage, is selling for $1,549.99 at Amazon, down from its original $1,899.99. Best Buy lists the same model at $1,649.99, $100 more. The Verge reports that this undercuts the previous best sale price by $100.

The higher-spec Z Fold 8 Ultra starts at $1,699.99, down from $2,099.99, which is $150 less than its previous best price before Prime Day. The Verge describes the Ultra as an iterative upgrade over the Z Fold 7, with better displays, cameras, chipset, and a nearly invisible crease.

The discounts arrive as Apple's iPhone Duo is set to launch. The Verge calls the Z Fold 8 the closest thing to an iPhone Duo on the Android side in the US, while noting its compact passport-style design and 4:3 inner screen are well suited for reading and video. The Ultra, by contrast, is positioned as the specs powerhouse of the two.
