Shivon Zilis, the mother of four of Elon Musk's children and a figure in his AI ventures, announced on X that she and Musk had broken up. She quote-tweeted a post noting that Musk had unfollowed her, writing that it was hard to go from being in love to letting go in a week with no warning.
Zilis's role in Musk's business world is significant. In a trial earlier this year involving Musk's lawsuit against OpenAI, she testified that she worked 80 to 100 hours a week across Musk's "entire AI portfolio," including Tesla, Neuralink, and OpenAI. She denied under oath that she was his chief of staff, while Musk testified that she was, drawing laughter from the courtroom.
The breakup is the latest public split between Musk and a mother of his children. Grimes previously sued to establish a parental relationship, and Ashley St. Clair said she rejected a $40 million NDA from Musk and is suing over his chatbot Grok. Musk has 14 known children.
Zilis's post was largely complimentary, saying she wanted Musk to feel "the deepest and most stable form of love." She also recommended a memoir by Musk's mother, Maye Musk, saying it gave her resolve during tough moments.
