According to The Verge, President Trump's push to replace "artificial intelligence" with "super intelligence" is gaining ground in corporate boardrooms even as most people stick with the original term. The White House has called use of "artificial intelligence" unacceptable and issued an executive order requiring government agencies to use the new phrase.

Business leaders are moving quickly. Elon Musk has promised to rename SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI. Marc Benioff's Salesforce will change AIForce to SIForce. Jensen Huang attended the summit where the order was announced, and Nvidia's new $1 billion research commitment includes "super intelligence research." Microsoft's Satya Nadella, also at the summit, used the term repeatedly in a recent post about building an "emergency brake" for the technology.

The pattern is part of a broader shift: during Trump's second term, Silicon Valley has repeatedly tried to ingratiate itself with the administration after a more contentious first term. The Verge notes that Huang has aligned with Trump and called AI dangers overblown, while the report offers no indication that any of the named executives publicly objected to the rebrand.
