Smart unveiled the #2 at the Paris Motor Show, a two-seat ultra-compact EV that revives the Fortwo formula. Both Engadget and Electrek report a 60 kW rear motor, 130 Nm of torque, and a 35.8 kWh LFP battery with up to 290 km (180 miles) of WLTP range. Fast charging from 10 to 80% takes about 20 minutes, and the car features a five-link rear suspension and standard driver assistance systems.

Pricing and trims are consistent across sources: Pure at €19,990, Pure+ at €20,990, Premium at €24,490, and a limited Couture Edition at €25,690 (999 units). Engadget notes the US starting price under $26,500, but both agree the car is unlikely to be sold in North America, where Smart has not offered vehicles since 2019.

The main discrepancy is availability timing. Electrek says early orders open in Europe tomorrow (Oct 13) with deliveries starting in 2027, while Engadget reports preorders open in spring with summer deliveries. Electrek also adds context on rivals like the Renault Twingo E-Tech, which offers four seats for the same price, and notes the #2's 2,746 mm length and 6.95-meter turning circle as key urban advantages.
