Valve is rolling out a new Steam feature called “achievement sets,” which gives developers a way to organize achievements into separate groups for a base game and its downloadable content. Players still unlock achievements normally, but when they browse their progress, Steam will display the list broken into developer-created sets rather than one long stream of achievements.

Each achievement set has its own progress bar, and finishing a set adds a “set complete” trophy to the player’s profile. Valve also says Steam will support seasonal achievement sets that developers can archive, opening the door for time-limited events such as holiday achievements or updates to season-based games.

A handful of games already support achievement sets, according to The Verge, including Portal 2, Team Fortress 2, Crusader Kings III, Forza Horizon 5, and PowerWash Simulator. Valve is also refreshing the Steam Achievements page to show an overall progress summary, per-set progress, and details on individual achievements. The new features are available in the latest Steam client beta.
