Supernatural, the VR fitness app that became a standout title for Meta headsets, has relaunched in early access as an independent service. Both The Verge and Engadget report that the app is available again in the Meta Horizon Store, with thousands of remastered workouts available from day one and more on the way.
The two outlets differ slightly on how to frame the pricing. The Verge notes that the subscription has increased from $9.99 per month to $20 per month, or $200 per year. Engadget also reports the new price, but points out that $20 per month was what Supernatural originally cost when it launched in 2020.
The relaunch includes new music, a new glacial-lake virtual environment, and support for up to four people in one household sharing a headset. Returning users can transfer points, streaks, favorites, and badges through December 3rd. The companies behind the app also plan to bring back the real-time online workout feature, which is currently in testing, and are building a mobile companion app for tracking progress.
Both reports frame the comeback as a test of whether the fan community will follow the app after its split from Meta. The team has promised weekly new workouts and more back-catalog content in the months ahead, with founding-member rewards starting with a custom bat. As Engadget quotes CEO James Senior: "It's not every day you get to make a comeback, but thanks to the Supernatural community, that's exactly what we're doing."
