President Donald Trump is set to award the National Medal of Science to Elon Musk, Sergey Brin, Jensen Huang and Lisa Su, and the National Medal of Technology and Innovation to Michael Dell and Satya Nadella, at a science summit on Thursday, according to the White House.
The honours span spaceflight, electric vehicles, search, semiconductors and enterprise technology. Musk leads SpaceX and Tesla; Brin co-founded Google; Huang is CEO of Nvidia; Su is CEO of AMD; Dell founded Dell Technologies; and Nadella is CEO of Microsoft.
CNBC confirmed the event, citing the White House. The ceremony brings together executives from some of the most influential companies in the technology sector, marking a rare joint recognition of industry leaders by the administration.
