Tuesday Labs, a New York City-based robotics lab and design studio, has opened limited reservations for the Voxel Series-1, a bipedal home robot. A $200 deposit reserves a unit, with the company expecting the full price to land around $20,000 when the robot ships in 2028.
According to The Verge, the robot is designed to take over routine household tasks such as decluttering, watering plants, and retrieving items. It can also answer where it last saw a misplaced object, like a TV remote. The company has published detailed hardware specifications but is less specific about the robot's capabilities; at launch, it will not cook meals or change diapers.
The long timeline and steep price put Voxel in a premium segment of the emerging general-purpose home robot market, alongside products like Weave Robotics' Issac 1. Whether enough consumers will pay $20,000 for a robot that remembers lost items remains to be seen.
