Conservative Dad's Ultra Right Beer was pitched as a culture-war answer to Bud Light, but two years on, many of its buyers say they are still waiting for their orders. Founder Seth Weathers, a Georgia political consultant, launched the brand in April 2023 amid the backlash to a Bud Light promotion with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. He claimed sales were approaching $1 million within weeks, even before a brewery was secured.

Delivery problems soon mounted. The Better Business Bureau has given Ultra Right Beer LLC an F rating and says it has not responded to nearly 200 complaints about missing six-packs and minimal customer service. A Facebook group called 'People Still Waiting for Ultra Right Fight Beer' has around 400 members, many of whom say they never received limited-edition cans or refunds. Some customers tell WIRED they bought the beer as collectibles rather than out of boycott fervor, and simply want their money back.

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr has opened an investigation into the company, which court filings say has been unresponsive to compliance orders. Weathers did not respond to a request for comment and has not posted on social media since late last year. The contract brewer behind the beer, Ironshield Brewing, announced it was shutting down in December 2023.
