Modder Jason Kopp has demonstrated Doom running on the 1982 Vectrex, the only vector-based home console ever released. The 1993 shooter appears on the machine's CRT as glowing line art, giving it a Tron-like look that Engadget describes as closer to an artistic statement than another novelty port.

Kopp's build is not a native port. It relies on his Ultimate Vectrex Multicart 2 cartridge, which functions as a small plug-in PC and handles processing while the console's built-in CRT is used for display. Audio is delivered through a separate 3.5mm output on the cartridge. The project also uses an SDK created by modder Daniel Ferrer Guerrero.

According to the source, the demo is one of the more notable Doom visual presentations, even with the asterisk that the Vectrex itself is not running the game's code. The project is part of a small enthusiast effort to keep vector graphics alive in gaming.
