Veremark, a background-checking startup that raised a $100m Series B, has decided to test the London Stock Exchange's new Private Securities Market (PSM). The venue has generated excitement in the UK tech scene as a way for private companies to raise capital and offer liquidity without a full public listing.
The company said the PSM gives it a middle path between staying private and going public. It allows employees and early investors to sell shares while avoiding the costs and scrutiny of a traditional IPO. The LSE has positioned the PSM as a way to keep high-growth companies in the UK.
Veremark's decision is an early test of whether the PSM can attract startups. The company's leadership said the market provides flexibility, though it does not rule out a future public listing.
