Verizon is entering the iPhone Handoff market at a premium price. The carrier announced the feature is "coming soon" to its network and will cost $10 a month, according to Engadget. That is double the $5 monthly fee T-Mobile charges for the same capability in the US, and it suggests Verizon sees the convenience of a shared eSIM number as a high-value add-on.

iPhone Handoff, which launched on T-Mobile and Deutsche Telekom, lets customers use the same eSIM number on two iPhones running iOS 27 and linked to the same Apple ID. The two devices cannot use the number simultaneously, but users can switch which phone is active at any time. Calls, messages, and Find My automatically move to the active device, and iCloud backups stay synced across both.

For business users, the feature could reduce the need to carry two phones or swap SIM cards, but the pricing gap between carriers is notable. Verizon's $10 fee may still appeal to customers already paying for premium service, yet it also sets a higher benchmark for a feature that is essentially a software-enabled convenience. As carriers increasingly look to monetize eSIM capabilities, pricing will likely remain a key differentiator.
