Waymo has started carrying passengers to and from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, using designated autonomous vehicle zones at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. The company said the airport service will initially be limited to a few riders before expanding to all customers in the city.

Las Vegas becomes the sixth major airport in Waymo's network, following airports in Phoenix, Nashville, San Antonio, San Francisco, and San José. The company's Las Vegas ride-hailing service only recently opened to the public, covering a 24-square-mile operating area.

Waymo is not the first robotaxi operator at the Las Vegas airport: Amazon-owned Zoox already offers rides there. Competition is expected to intensify after Nevada regulators approved permits that could allow Tesla and Uber to put thousands of robotaxis on the city's streets over the next year.
