New certification filings with the Wi-Fi Alliance have revealed two unannounced PlayStation products, and the model numbers suggest they are successors to Sony's PlayStation Portal streaming handheld. The documents list model numbers CFI-Y2000 and CFI-Y2105, a step up from the current Portal's CFI-Y1001, and describe both as "Gaming Console/Peripherals" running Android 15.

Because the current Portal also runs Android, the filings point to an update to the streaming device rather than a home console. The Verge notes that hardware leaker KeplerL2 earlier this year claimed Sony was working on an "OLED version" of the Portal. The original Portal, launched in late 2023, has an 8-inch LCD screen.

However, the certification does not indicate a major networking upgrade: both devices are certified only for 1x1 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, with no 6GHz support and seemingly no additional antennas. That suggests any refresh may focus on display and internal components rather than streaming performance. Sony did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
