Alphabet-owned Wing and Walmart have announced that drone deliveries will begin in the Denver and Seattle metro areas in 2027. This is the latest step in a plan to offer air delivery from more than 270 Walmart stores across the U.S. Currently, the service operates in five metro areas: Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, and Orlando. The companies also aim to expand to fourteen other destinations, including Miami, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Customers can see drone delivery as an option in the Walmart app or website if their order is eligible, and they can also order through Wing's app. The drones can carry payloads up to five pounds and travel at speeds up to 60 mph. The announcement came just days after DoorDash revealed details of its own drone service, DoorDash Air, which will debut in northern California with partners such as Chipotle and Popeyes.
