BYD has confirmed that its luxury Denza Z9 GT will receive a major intelligent-driving upgrade in Europe starting in 2027. The update, delivered over the air, adds City Navigation on Driving Assistant (CNOA), part of BYD's God's Eye system. According to BYD, CNOA can handle point-to-point navigation in dense city traffic, including stopping at red lights, yielding at roundabouts, making left turns, and changing lanes around double-parked vehicles, while detecting pedestrians and cyclists.

The software will run on hardware already installed in the car, including a LiDAR unit, 12 ultrasonic radar sensors, three millimeter-wave radar sensors, and 11 cameras. BYD executive vice president Stella Li said the company is fulfilling its promise to bring God's Eye benefits to the Z9 GT. The update is expected to be available in 2027.

The Denza Z9 GT, launched in Europe in July, is BYD's first European vehicle with its tri-motor e3 platform, second-generation Blade Batteries, and Flash Charging Technology. The all-electric version uses a 122.49 kWh battery pack and three motors producing 1,140 hp, with a WLTP range of up to 599 km. At BYD's Flash Charging stations, the car can charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes. In Europe, the EV starts at €115,000 including VAT, while the plug-in hybrid variant starts at £95,000 in the UK.
