BYD readies a bigger sibling to its $10,000 Seagull EV

BYD's cheapest electric car, the Seagull, has made waves with a starting price of around $10,000 in China. In export markets such as Europe and the UK, the same vehicle is rebranded as the Dolphin Surf or Dolphin Mini. Now the company is preparing a larger version of the Seagull, and the first images of that upcoming model have surfaced.
The new variant appears designed to sit above the Seagull in BYD's lineup while still aiming for the budget end of the market. According to the report, the larger sibling could be an even "bigger" hit, suggesting BYD sees strong demand for affordable electric cars with a bit more space.
No official specifications or release date have been confirmed yet, so details remain limited. But the move shows BYD expanding its low-cost EV family rather than relying on a single model to drive volume in price-sensitive segments.
