Kia's new 2027 EV3 is on sale in the US and moved 514 units in its first full month, according to the automaker. That is a modest start compared with Kia's broader lineup, but the company expects the roughly $30,000 electric SUV to become one of its biggest growth drivers heading into 2027.
Kia also reported record sales overall: more than 77,000 vehicles sold in September, its best September since entering the US market in 1992, and 221,664 vehicles in the third quarter. Through the first nine months of 2026, Kia America sold 667,386 vehicles, up about 5% year over year. Kia America vice president of sales Eric Watson credited the brand's wide range of models and powertrains, saying the momentum makes Kia "the brand to watch" in 2027.
The EV3 starts at $29,890, placing it among the most affordable EVs in the US alongside the Chevy Bolt EV and Nissan Leaf. Kia notes the EV3 offers longer driving range, more power, and is the only one of the three available with all-wheel drive. In global markets, the EV3 has already found traction: it was the third best-selling EV in the UK and ranked 10th in Europe in its first full year of sales.
