According to Electrek, patent images filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office by Hyundai Motor Company appear to show a production version of the Kia EV9 ADVNTR. The patent, first spotted by CarBuzz, includes six views of the electric off-road SUV. Kia originally showcased the ADVNTR concept at the 2024 SEMA show, featuring off-road upgrades such as a roof rack, reinforced rocker panels, all-terrain tires, and modified bumpers.
The patent does not reveal powertrain specifications. For reference, the current most powerful Kia EV9 produces up to 379 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque from dual electric motors, with a 99.8 kWh battery offering an EPA-estimated range of up to 304 miles. Whether Kia will actually bring the vehicle to market remains unconfirmed.
If released, the off-road EV9 would likely sit above the GT-Line trim, which starts at $71,900 in the US, suggesting a starting price of $75,000 or more. Electrek notes that several automakers, including Hyundai, Ford, Toyota, BMW, Genesis, and Mercedes-Benz, are targeting the off-road market, where specialized models can command higher margins.
