Kia appears to be next in line for Hyundai Motor Group's latest infotainment overhaul. Spy shots from TheKoreanCarBlog show a disguised K5 testing a new interior with a larger center display and a redesigned steering wheel, similar to setups already seen in Hyundai and Genesis models. The only notable difference is a slightly lower instrument display behind the steering wheel.
The system on screen is Pleos Connect, Hyundai's next-generation infotainment platform built on Android Automotive OS. It is designed to feel more like a smartphone, with customizable apps and multi-view windows. Hyundai also pairs it with Gleo AI, an in-car AI companion. The new system first appeared on the Grandeur in South Korea and is now rolling out to vehicles like the IONIQ 3 in Europe.
Kia's current vehicles use the older Navigation Cockpit with dual 12.3-inch screens, so this test signals a shift toward the group's unified software strategy. Hyundai Motor Group plans to equip about 20 million Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia vehicles with Pleos Connect by 2030. Kia's first software-defined vehicle is expected in 2027, and more details on the new interior could arrive before then.
