Meta has signed a power purchase agreement with Apex Clean Energy for output from a 144-MW solar project in Texas. Under the deal, Meta will hold exclusive rights to all environmental attributes tied to the facility, including renewable energy credits, according to Apex.

The arrangement is a typical corporate PPA structure: the buyer claims the clean-energy attributes while the power itself may go to the grid. This lets Meta count the generation toward its sustainability goals even if the electrons are not physically dedicated to its data centers.

Texas remains a leading market for large-scale solar, and this agreement adds to the growing roster of tech companies contracting renewable energy in the state. Neither company disclosed financial terms or a project timeline in the announcement.
